As the last of the autumn leaves are raked away and the days slowly become shorter, we’re slowly eased into winter. It’s the season of hibernation – but that doesn’t mean you have to slow down too.

While winter sets in around us, life at Settlers stays just as lively and connected as any other time of the year. The cold season brings in a different sense of togetherness – from shared meals to cosy indoor events, there’s always something happening and always someone to enjoy it with.

The Warmth Of Community In The Colder Months

Naturally, we spend more time indoors during the colder months, but that doesn’t mean village life slows down. In fact, it continues to thrive. This time of year highlights what makes our community so special: the warmth of connection, the freedom to go at your own pace, and the joy of sharing meaningful moments every day.

Our village lifestyle makes it easy to stay active and socially connected with amenities like the pool, spa, restaurant, gym, onsite hair salon and much more. From movie afternoons in the purpose-built theatre to tinkering in the “blokes’ shed” or joining regular activities, there’s always something to enjoy. And because everything’s close by, catching up and staying involved is so easy.

Here, feeling comfortable isn’t just about staying warm – it’s about being part of a community that feels like home.

Wellness and Peace Of Mind

Winter can be a difficult season for some, especially when the chill sets in and daylight hours shrink. For many, the colder months can bring on low mood or fatigue – sometimes linked to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), which affects more people than you think.

It’s also common to slow down a little, and stick to the basics, especially when getting out feels harder and power bills are higher. Staying social, active and doing the things you enjoy is a big part of staying well, especially this time of year.

That’s where village life can really help. At Settlers, so much is right on your doorstep — from vibrant indoor spaces and activities to friendly faces and support when you need it. Many activities are included at no extra cost, and access to facilities like the pool, spa, and gym is part of the lifestyle, not an added expense.

This is one of the great advantages of village life, especially during winter, when rising power bills and seasonal costs can put pressure on your budget. At Settlers, you can stay active, social, and entertained without worrying about the added cost of extracurricular activities.

Whether you’re enjoying time in the cáfe, heading to a class, or just chatting with your neighbour, you’ll never feel far from opportunities to connect. With the right environment, winter doesn’t have to feel isolating!

See It For Yourself

If you’re curious about what life is like at Settlers Lifestyle Village, winter might actually be the perfect time to visit. Take a walk around the village, including our beautiful butterfly house, have a coffee, and get a feel for the people who make our village feel so alive. If you love our village in winter, you’ll love it even more in summer!

We’d love to show you around on a personal tour, or welcome you on one of our Open Days. Whatever works for you, works for us. Here at Settlers we don’t slow down during winter, we keep on moving.
